Who regulates pharmaceutical manufacturing in Malaysia and what does it mean for valves?

The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, or NPRA, conducts GMP inspections and administers pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements under Malaysia’s Drug Control Authority. As Malaysia’s PIC/S Participating Authority, NPRA applies the PIC/S Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice. For valves, this means product-contact materials, cleanability and design must help prevent contamination and support validated cleaning processes.

Cleaning in place and sterilisation in place subject valves to repeated caustic and acid cleaning, clean steam at sterilisation temperature and continuous thermal cycling, so both wetted materials and internal geometry have to withstand it.
